Research Project Overview:
Research Apprenticeship: Access to Higher Education
The work will involve library research, reading materials, and writing an annotated bibliography.
Role of a SHARE Summer Apprentice:
The apprentice will become proficient in library research, evaluating research, and writing an annotated bibliography.
This research apprenticeship is ideal for a student who is interested in learning about barriers and challenges to accessing to higher education.
Summer Schedule/Time Commitment:
The work can take place any time between June 20 and August 8. Beyond that, the work schedule is flexible.
My preference is for the apprentice to choose a period of 5 weeks and work approximately 18 hours/week. Alternatively, the apprentice can choose 6 weeks at approximately 15 hours/week.
Preferred Qualifications:
A student who has taken at least two sociology classes and has a genuine interest in sociological research.
To Apply:
The application deadline has passed.
Please note:
All students hired for a SHARE Summer apprenticeship must complete a federal I-9 form and present original documents in person to OUR staff as part of the hiring process. Visit this U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services page for more information about acceptable documents. You cannot begin working until this is complete. Students are encouraged to plan ahead for this. For example, if you are going home for spring break, consider bringing documents back to campus with you.
