Undergraduate Research Opportunity Description

Project Description Our lab studies the cortical circuits and cell types supporting executive functioning in the prefrontal cortex, using a wide range of tools including in vivo calcium imaging of neuronal activity in animals actively engaged in complex decision-making tasks, as well as optogenetics, histology, and computational modeling. There are several possible project available for summer students, including examining the effects of Alzheimer’s-related mutations on prefrontal coding, studying the effects of chronic stress on cognitive flexibility, and using machine-learning tools to for unbiased classification of animal behavior.
