Undergraduate Research Opportunity Description
Project Description | We need to add a dark-field tracking feature to an existing Matlab-based bright-field worm-tracking system so that a moving worm with selected neurons labeled by a red or green fluorescent protein may be tracked. In addition, we need to figure out approaches to quantify fluorescent signal intensity over time. |
Project Direction | Imaging calcium transients in neurons of live and moving worms is very useful to interrogating roles of specific neurons in circuit function. During the academic year, the need to address bug issues that have been reported by users. |
Mentorship and Supervision | The lab PI will work closely with student to test the new software. |
Student Qualifications | We are looking for a highly motivated student with computer programming knowledge |
