Undergraduate Research Opportunity Description
Project Description | We are currently pursuing a number of approaches, including the use of transgenic mouse models and cell lines, to learn more about the precise mechanisms of human tumorigenesis. In addition, we are continuing a major initiative seeking additional genes that contribute to human neoplasia. |
Project Direction | Pathogenesis of human endocrine tumors, especially parathyroid and craniofacial tumors. The roles of the cyclin D1 oncogene and the CDC73 tumor suppressor gene in neoplasia. |
Student Qualifications | Coursework in Genetics and/or Molecular Biology. |
Time Commitment | 3-9 hours/week |
Schedule Options | Monday-Friday 9am-5pm |
Project Continuation | Summer 2017 and/or Fall 2017 |
