Work-Study Research Assistant Program: Mid-Year Faculty Report

This report is to be completed by faculty mentors in the Work-Study Research Assistant Program. Please complete this form no later than Friday, December 18, 2020.
  • Please briefly describe the research tasks in which your research assistant has been involved.
  • What is going well in your work with this student?
  • What challenges have you encountered to date in mentoring this student? What challenges have you experienced with regard to the structure or administration of the Work-Study Research Assistant Program?
  • At the end of the academic year, students are expected to reflect on their research assistantship experience by doing one of the following:
    1. 1. Writing a brief reflection paper on their experience, or
    2. 2. Preparing a poster and presenting it at the Frontiers in Undergraduate Research Poster Exhibition on either April 3rd or 4th, 2020 (students are only expected to present on one of the two days). OUR will cover poster printing costs.
Which option do you anticipate being most appropriate for your research assistant? This answer is not binding, but will help us plan for Frontiers.
  • This is the fifth year the Work-Study Research Assistant Program has been offered. As we build and expand, your suggestions are invaluable to us and will help improve future iterations of the program. Please use this field to offer any suggestions on how the program could be improved or ways OUR could better support you/your research assistant. If you have questions for us, please feel free to share those here as well.
