Chenghong is a senior majoring in Molecular and Cell biology and minoring in Psychology and Bioinformatics. She is also in the Honors Program and was a 2017 Babbidge Scholar. Chenghong participates in leadership workshops through the UConn Leadership Office and is an International Orientation Ambassador (IOA).
Chenghong got involved in the Malone Laboratory in her sophomore year. After volunteering for one semester, she was able to start her own project “The Genes Expressed in Frog Skin and their Role in Evolutionary Innovation”. During her junior year, she had an opportunity to work full time during the Summer 2019 by receiving a SURF Award. In addition, she is also involved research under the mentorship of Dr. James Magnuson in the Department of Psychological Sciences. She shadows a PhD student to learn eye tracking skills.
