Undergraduate Research Opportunity Description

Project Description Spatial SH2 profiling of cancer cells. The goal is to obtain high quality multiplex optical microscopy data based on the spatial SH2 profiling pipeline developed previously in the lab. The student will be trained and work on cell culture, fluorescence labeling, and confocal microscopy technologies.
Project Direction The project is part of the broad effort in understanding tyrosine phosphoproteome in cells and their misregulations in cancer. The data acquired will be analyzed in correlation with non-spatail phosphoproteome data (mass spectrometry) and be used to develop machine learning models.
Mentorship and Supervision - Technical training will be provided by me or a staff
- Student will meet with me 3 time a week to discuss progress and get feedback
- Student is expected to present the research twice over the summer.
Student Qualifications Year 3/4 students with strong interests in scientific research. Previous experiences in mammalian cell culture preferred.
Summer Schedule Options Research Dates: May 18 to July 24, 2026
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am through 6pm
Project Continuation Fall 2026, Spring 2027
Academic Year Time Commitment 3 hours/week
