Project Overview:
I am seeking a research assistant to support a digital humanities project focused on visual storytelling and web-based exhibition design. The project involves organizing and analyzing photographic, video, and personal data archives; creating edited videos, illustrations, and data-driven visuals; and preparing materials for public exhibition.
Role of a SHARE Summer Apprentice:
The research apprentice will support digital archive organization and visual storytelling development. Responsibilities will include organizing photo and video materials, conducting literature searches, assisting with multimedia editing, creating visual assets and illustrations.
The apprentice will gain hands-on experience in digital humanities research, multimedia production, and user experience design. The position will involve regular virtual meetings with the faculty mentor, and all work will be completed remotely.
Summer Schedule/Time Commitment:
We will focus on the project at the beginning of the summer. The research assistant will commit approximately 10–15 hours per week and participate in weekly meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Students studying digital media design or related fields.
- Strong skills in photo and video editing, illustration.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, video editing software, and web platforms; willingness to learn new tools as needed.
