Faculty Mentors

OUR is happy to work with faculty members to identify funding opportunities, and to consult on ways to get undergraduates involved in the research life of the university.  Your willingness to mentor and work with undergraduates as developing scholars is greatly appreciated!

Zelditch (1990) defined mentors as:

Advisors, people with career experience willing to share their knowledge; supporters, people who give emotional and moral encouragement; tutors, people who give specific feedback on one’s performance;
masters, in the sense of employers to whom one is apprenticed;
sponsors, sources of information about, and aid in obtaining opportunities;
models of identity of the kind of person one should be to be an academic.”

Thank you for your interest in working with undergraduates and being a mentor.
